Two people rushed to hospital after house fire as traffic impacted


A fire in a semi-detached house converted into flats on Central Park Road, East Ham, Newham, yesterday (July 13) caused two people to suffer smoke inhalation.

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) was called at 3.23pm that day and rushed to Central Park Road to find part of the ground floor flat damaged in the blaze.

LFB control officers received nine calls about the fire.

The blaze took just under an hour to put out.

By 4.22pm the fire had been extinguished after crews from Dockhead, Plaistow and Woodford stations attended.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, LFB added, which had advised people to avoid the area as traffic was impacted.
